Shhhh... Don't say a word
In efforts to reaffirm our beliefs in ourselves, we sometimes talk too much. Being on the precipice of an achievement, we can't help but to say something to others, hoping they'll be as excited. It never works out quite like that. Being on the edge of something great doesn't always inspire enthusiasm or shared joy. More often than not, our perceived life events cause jealousy.
If you mention the dream vacation to someone which you just started paying for, watch their faces. They may smile and congratulate you, but their eyes reflect the envy their mouths won't say. A small part of themselves which they won't admit, wants you to fail in your latest endeavor.
The new rule of thumb is to not say a word, no matter how you may be tempted to. Vacations, business endeavors, relationships, keep them all to yourself. The pats on the back and the insincere smiles are not real.
The reason behind the fake love is plain jealousy. Why should you be allowed to be prosperous, or in love, or chasing your dreams? While they're still in the same ruts they've always been in.
Don't talk about your next great thing, be about it. Just keep it to yourself...unti they see you do it...
